Non-profit website design in Toronto

We're a Canadian web design studio with a Toronto presence, building AODA-compliant websites for Ontario non-profits, charities, and associations. Accessible by design, Canadian-hosted.

A dedicated team with an average of 8 years of experience

Most agencies start with a mood board. We start with your audience.

Before any design work begins, Pragmatica conducts a structured discovery phase, understanding your business goals, your users' needs, your competitive landscape, and your content architecture. The result is a website that looks exactly right because it was built on a clear understanding of what it needs to do.

A process built on clarity, not guesswork

Discovery & Strategy
Every project begins with a deep dive into your organization, who you serve, what you need visitors to do, and where your current digital presence is falling short. We map user flows and information architecture before touching visual design.
UX Design & Wireframing
We design the structure and logic of your website before applying visual style. Wireframes establish layout, navigation, content hierarchy, and conversion paths — ensuring design decisions serve users, not just aesthetics.
Visual Design
With the UX foundation in place, we apply your brand identity to every element — typography, colour, imagery, spacing, and motion. We design to WCAG 2.1 AA standards as a default, ensuring your site is beautiful and inclusive.
Platform Development
We build primarily on Webflow and WordPress — choosing the right platform for each client based on their content needs, team capabilities, and long-term maintenance requirements. We don't have a preferred platform; we have a preferred outcome.
Launch & Handoff
We configure your site for SEO and AEO before launch — title tags, meta descriptions, heading structure, schema markup, and sitemap. We train your team to manage content independently, and we stay available after launch.
What We Deliver

Every Pragmatica design engagement includes

Responsive & Mobile-First Design

Over 60% of Canadian web traffic is mobile. Every site is designed mobile-first and tested across all devices and screen sizes before launch.

WCAG 2.1 AA Accessibility

Accessibility is a design default, not an add-on. We build inclusive sites that serve every user, meet legal requirements, and rank better in search.

SEO & AEO Optimisation

Title tags, schema markup, heading structure, and FAQ sections built for both Google and AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews.

Website Development

We recommend the right platform for your needs — Webflow for most marketing sites, WordPress for large-scale content operations.

CMS Training & Handoff

Your team leaves knowing how to manage content independently. We provide training, documentation, and post-launch support as standard.

Core Web Vitals Performance

Fast, clean code built to pass Google's performance benchmarks — LCP, INP, and CLS — from day one.

Built for Canadian organisations that need to get it right

We have been designing websites in Vancouver and Toronto since 2004 — long enough to have seen every design trend arrive and fade, and to know which principles hold constant. We are recognised by The Manifest as one of Vancouver's most reviewed web agencies.

Strategy before aesthetics

Every engagement starts with a structured discovery phase. We understand your goals, audience, and content before a single pixel is designed.

Accessibility as standard

WCAG 2.1 AA compliance is built into every project — not charged as an extra. Accessible design is just good design

Canadian data residency

For non-profits, healthcare, and government organisations: we build and host on Canadian infrastructure, keeping data on Canadian soil.

Long-term partnerships

Most of our clients have been with us for five years or more. We are a partner invested in your growth, not a vendor who disappears after launch.

Toronto non-profit website FAQ

Are you actually based in Toronto?

We have a Toronto studio. Pragmatica was founded in Vancouver in 2004 and we've grown into a Canada-wide team. Most of our Ontario client work runs through Toronto, including AODA audits and remediation.

What does AODA compliance require of a non-profit website?

If your organization has 50 or more Ontario employees, your public website must meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA. Most modern Pragmatica builds meet WCAG 2.1 AA, a stricter standard. The compliance is your responsibility but it's our job to deliver a site that passes.

Do you handle ONCA compliance and board governance pages?

The website isn't where ONCA compliance happens, but your public reporting often lives there. We make it easy to publish board minutes, audited financials, annual reports, and member-only documents so they're searchable and accessible.

What does a Toronto non-profit website cost with Pragmatica?

Most Ontario non-profit projects land between $15,000 and $45,000 CAD. AODA remediation projects on existing sites tend to be lower, $5,000 to $20,000 depending on the size of the audit and what needs fixing.

Can you fix our existing site's AODA problems without a full rebuild?

Often yes. We do AODA-focused audits and targeted remediation when a full rebuild isn't on the table. We tell you up front what's fixable in place and what isn't.

How long does a non-profit website take to build?

Eight to fourteen weeks for most non-profit projects, from kickoff to launch. AODA remediation projects can run shorter, four to eight weeks depending on the scope of the existing site.
